En Garde. Pret, Alléz. ( On guard. Ready. Go.) Two masked students engage in close combat with Epee, Saber, or Foil to compete for points in a sport that many across the world enjoy, even competing into their late seventies. Fencing at NCA International is a fun and entertaining sport for both spectators and participants. NCA’s fencing club was created in 2014 and is increasing in credibility as we obtain new equipment and develop our affiliation with the Nicaraguan Fencing Federation. Students meet every Thursday after school working hard to develop discipline as they learn new maneuvers and techniques for practice bouts and future competitions. As one of our participants has noted, "It’s a great form of exercise that helps boost your hand-eye coordination and reflexes, as well as forming friendships and a community with a diverse group of people."
